The Former Fritz Heckert Residential Area and the NSU Complex
Guided tours
The meeting point is at the Documentation Center.
This guided neighbourhood tour, part of the haamit heimaten festival, is dedicated to the architectural, social, and political history of the Fritz Heckert residential area. One of the focal points is the area’s history as a home, connective space, and crime scene for the crimes of the NSU (National Socialist Underground). Together, attendees will examine the spaces where members of the NSU network lived and committed crimes. Participants can get a better grasp of how the NSU network was anchored in Chemnitz and what locally grounded reappraisal looks like.
The meeting point for the tour is the Dokumentationszentrum zum NSU-Komplex (NSU Complex Documentation Center) in central Chemnitz. Afterward, the group will take the train together to the Fritz Heckert residential area. Train tickets must be acquired by participants themselves.
