The Tage der jüdischen Kultur (Days of Jewish Culture) are hosting an afternoon of plural beHEIMATEN in Chemnitz’s Stadthallenpark. Since plurality has always been one of society’s most important features, it is crucial to ensure the broadest possible participation of all its members. In response to the fact that this participation is being questioned once again and voices of radical folk nationalism are becoming prominent again, on the right and on the left, Schalom Habibi intends to be a celebration of diversity. Given the seriousness of these threats, it is more important than ever to defend the realities of plural society, as they form a home for all everyone.

The Schalom Habibi programme is an invitation to jointly imagine how different perspectives and identities enrich, expand, and sustainably transform a society. And to imagine how a shared future shaped by everyone can be envisioned and realized. As part of the family celebration, the question of plural German HEIMATEN will be discussed, while paths and strategies for joint defense of plural democracy will be sought. A podium discussion featuring participants from diverse communities, sharing their points of view and experiences, forms a central element of the event. Additionally, there will be live music, a DJ set, puppet theatre, and a mobile play area.
