Postmigrant Political Satire
Talks
The event will be held in German. A livestream will be available on YouTube, where automatically generated subtitles can be enabled.
Pentagon – Postmigrant Political Satire is a hybrid discourse format at the Dietrich-Keuning-Haus in Dortmund, where the moderators Max Czollek and Aladin El-Mafaalani discuss socially relevant topics with alternating guests. Events such as 1700 Years of Jewish Life in Germany or the Day of German Unity are examined from postmigrant, Jewish, Muslim, and queer perspectives. How do people who do not belong to the dominant society view Germany? What knowledge, needs, and memories do they bring with them? What does it take for them to consider Germany their home? What does a plural, postmigrant narrative of the present look like?
With plenty of room for spontaneity and improvisation, the moderators gather at a round table with three guests (2 + 3 = five = Pentagon) to talk seriously yet openly about social, political, and religious topics previously unknown to the audience. The moderators and guests speak from a (multiply) marginalized perspective and invite a shift in perspective on public and media discourse.
Moderation: Aladin El-Mafaalani and Max Czollek
Guests: Miki Do and others
