Revealing Berlin Traces of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire
This guided sightseeing tour explores the interconnections between German, Turkish, and Armenian history in Berlin-Charlottenburg through biographies of the district’s Jewish and Armenian inhabitants, supporters of communism, and social democracy.
The tour will be led by the historians Eike Stegen and Perihan Zeran (glokal e. V.).
2. Workshop
„Connecting the Dots. Histories of Repression and Resistance“
This workshop on multi-sited global history addresses different viewpoints on the topic of heimaten. It is based on the award-winning timeline method developed by glokal e. V., which assembles quotations from diverse global diasporic perspectives across the centuries.
The workshop offers an introduction to global history that prompts participants to incorporate the material from Connecting the Dots into their own work.
It will be led by Tahir Della (Initiative Schwarze Menschen in Deutschland) and Perihan Zeran (glokal e. V.).
