In the Theaterhaus Jena, historian Jens-Christian Wagner and author and curator Max Czollek will discuss the subject of memory practices in a plural society. Wagner is director of the Buchenwald and Mittelbau-Dora Memorials Foundation, Professor of History in the Media and Public at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, and one of the most prominent voices in the field of memory culture today. Czollek’s work is a regular instigator of public debate, including books such as De-Integrate! A Jewish Survival Guide for the 21st Century and Versöhnungstheater (Theater of Reconciliation).
Following their conversation, the Institute for Democracy and Civil Society in Jena will offer a response, after which the public is invited to join the discussion.
