The event begins with Max Czollek’s first reading of his newest volume of poetry Gute Enden in Schleswig-Holstein, moderated by Kelly Laubinger. Afterward, the two will discuss the topic of being an ally in times of rightwing pressure and social polarization. How can allyship be lived in concrete terms, apart from symbolic gestures? What is necessary for solidarity that spans communities? What are the challenges, and what can individuals do right now? These and other questions will be topics of discussion.

Czollek and Laubinger advocate for democracy and human rights separately and in tandem. Their advocacy for one another is an example of practical solidarity between marginalized groups.
