Sound-Workshop with Tonica Hunter
Workshops
In German and English
In this three-part workshop series for beginners and curious minds (ages 15 to 99+), participants are invited to tune into the body’s “inner ear” and recall the sounds and spaces they associate with home. DJ and curator Tonica Hunter shares techniques of sounding and soundscaping from their own artistic practice. How can memories be made audible? How can stories be told through sound? And how might participants learn to listen to them by acknowledging their bodily perceptions?
To participate in the workshop, no prior experience is required. The focus is on exploring and experimenting together.
The three workshops are thematically connected but can also be attended individually. Participation is free of charge. We especially encourage people with migration experience to register.
Participants are expected to be respectful of others’ stories and ways of telling. Nationalist and otherwise exclusionary ideations of memory, belonging, and home that promote notions of superiority will not be tolerated.
