This workshop begins by exploring how to understand racist police violence, racial profiling, and racist police checks. Using examples and experiences gathered by the participants, the workshop shows how racialized police violence manifests itself. The group then collectively determines what responses exist for those who are impacted—as well as those who are not directly affected.

Central questions include:
What are the rights of individuals versus police?
What are police allowed to do, and what are they not allowed to do?
What are the possibilities for pursuing complaints?
What support can be found at counselling centres?

This workshop offers a space for exchanging experiences and finding strategies for confronting racial police violence.

Concrete occasions for the workshop include: the deadly police violence against Mohamed Idrissi (2020); the deadly police violence against Mouhamed Dramé (2022); the deadly police violence against Amin Farah (2022); the deadly police violence against Lorenz A. (2025), the death of 15-year-old Nelson in Ottweiler Prison (2025); deportations from Germany and the ongoing tightening of migration policy; police violence against Palestinian solidarity movements.
