Black Visual Grammar is a mobile cultural programme that uses collage and exhibition practices to center Black perspectives on diverse subjects and themes. Inspired by critical sociological methods such as photovoice and autoethnography, each edition of Black Visual Grammar begins with collage-making workshops followed by public exhibitions. Understanding Black perspectives as multilocal, intergenerational, and multicultural, the programme aims to create a visual archive that multiplies frames of reference, subjectivities, questions, and imaginative landscapes. Previous editions have explored spirituality, everyday moments in Black life, and alternative definitions of Heimat (home/homeland) through site-specific works, printed matter, and installations.
